Your screenshots never leave your browser
All image processing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Screenshots and images you upload are stored only in your browser's memory for the duration of your session. They are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on any server.
The one exception is translation, and it does not involve your images. If you use the translate feature, the headline and subtitle text you typed on your slides is sent to our server and on to OpenAI to be translated, then returned to your browser. We do not store that text. Your uploaded screenshot is never part of that request — no pixels from your image are sent anywhere.
What we collect
We collect almost nothing. Specifically:
- If you never sign in: We store nothing about you on our servers. A single flag (
freeExportUsed) is stored in your browser's localStorage to track whether your one free clean export has been used. - If you sign in: Signing in with Google creates a Firebase Authentication record holding your Google account ID and email address. This happens whether or not you ever pay.
- If you use translation: Translation requires an account. We store two flags against your account ID — whether your one free translation has been used (
freeTranslateUsed) and a per-day count of your translate runs (translateUsage). These exist to enforce the free trial and the daily limit. The text itself is not stored. - If you purchase Pro: We store your Google account user ID, email address, and a payment status flag (
paid: true) in our database. This is used solely to restore your Pro status across devices. - Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage data (pages visited, features used). No personally identifiable information is included in analytics events.
- Payments: Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card information.
Cookies and local storage
We use Firebase Authentication session cookies if you sign in, and a single localStorage key to track your free export. We use Google Analytics cookies for anonymous analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to third parties.
